A Must for every Photog | Get in front of a Lens
We have been practicing this since quite a while (e.g. here and here) and we recommend doing so when ever we can: Photographers, get at least once a year to the flip side of a camera! (But not just from your own one
Sure we have a little advantage to the average photographers out there as we can now and then just photograph each other. If it comes to take pictures of us both we also grab our self-timer and a tripod in order to not get these extended, wired looking arms in every frame. But also once a year we are booking a photographer, whom we admire, for a casual portrait session. (And yes, we have chosen the one for 2012 already
This is so important to understand “the other side” and also understand how your directions and working with the models turns out not to be an easy job at all. Getting photographed for 1,5 or 2 hours is not just trying to look good, it can be hard work too. It’s the easiest way to learn how to deal with your models and to figure out a couple of “do’s and don’ts”. And it’s also good to see how the other photographer does his job.
When we got mentioned as Showiteers of the day after our rebranding and new website launch, Inga Kretschmer and her mom Annette found us through the Showit Gang.
They were also planning a redesign for their blog/website and thus they were searching for a photographer to take the personal photos of them. Turned out, that we are going to be the lucky ones. Kretschmer Photography is a Mom-Daughter photographing Team from Kempen (near Düsseldorf) and they are combining a experienced photographer and a (photographing) modern social marketer.
Besides that, Inga and Annette are very beautiful, super nice and a cool team to have fun with. It was a piece of cake to photograph them here in Munich and we are very looking forward to see their new website with some of our photos going online soon.
Thanks to the both of you, it was a fun day for us too and we are looking forward meeting you someday again. All the best!
Love from Munich
