As a photographer, it is extremely important how you are and how you behave while shooting a wedding or event. A wedding is your shop window where possible clients can have a close look how you work and perform. It’s not only the couple you have to please. You will be observed by the guests even more. During our workshops we always encourage our students, not to forget that it’s not only pictures you are selling. It’s rather you as a person!

Remember when we where doing that drawing where you could win a Lifestyle Shooting with us? It’s quite some time ago right? But here we go: Photos of the Winners ! Wohooo!

We photographed the winning couple some weeks ago in Villach. It took quite some time to find the perfect date for all of us and to be honest with you, we were just one step before canceling the shooting due to very bad weather. But luckily we did it and we are extremely happy with both, the couple and the results. The weather was very bad but we were very lucky to even get some sun light between the clouds in order to make summer photos and not just rainy once. Read more

Hello Friends,

We have been discussing since yesterday whether to blog this shooting now or later due to the recent terrifying earthquake here in New Zealand. We have been checking with Megan and Jeremy if they are all good since both were supposed to be in Christchurch at this time. We are more than happy that Megan texted us that she is fine as well as Jeremy is back in Oamaru already.

We are very lucky not to be in that region right now. We sat on the centre place of Christchurch next to the cathedral a week ago on a beautiful sunny day. Unbelievable what just happened there yesterday. We are totally thankful that we again haven’t been on a wrong place at the wrong time and we wish that this is not going to change. Our thoughts are with the people in Christchurch. Although we can hardly do anything about the people there at the moment and our life will fortunately continue as well, and so does our work. That’s why we decided to share the story about our recent shooting in Oamaru with you out there and hope you like it as much as we do! Read more

Wie bereits vor wenigen Wochen berichtet, hat Iaan seine Liebe Christine einen Heiratsantrag gemacht, bei dem wir die beiden heimlich fotografiert haben (Bilder gibts hier). Es war zwar nicht möglich, großes Videoequipment mit zu nehmen ohne dabei erwischt zu werden und alles kaputt zu machen, dennoch haben wir zusätzlich zu den Fotos auch einige Videos aufgenommen und diese zu einer kleinen Fusion zusammen gebaut. Den Song “Jason Mraz – I’m Yours” hat Iaan verwendet für die Slideshow, die er Christine vor dem Antrag auf dem Ipad gezeigt hat.

Am Sonntag auf unserem Rückweg aus der schönen Steiermark erhielten wir über Facebook eine richtig coole Anfrage. Birgit Hart, eine großartige Kollegin aus München, hat uns weiterempfohlen – vielen Dank an dieser Stelle. Christine Meintjes (eine unglaublich tolle Fotografin) und Iaan van Niekerk sind aus Südafrika angereist um eine Hochzeit im schönen Bayern zu fotografieren. Es sollte ein ganz besonderer Aufenthalt in München werden, denn Christine “loves Germany” und Iaan wollte für seinen Heiratsantrag etwas ganz besonderes. In seiner Message auf Facebook ging es um ein Engagement Shoot, jedoch kein herkömmliches…Iaan hatte sich überlegt seine Freundin mit einem “Secret Engagement Shooting” zu überraschen. Natürlich wollten wir das unbedingt machen, da es einerseits unser erstes “verdecktes” Shooting war und andererseits es immer toll ist neue Leute und Kollegen aus aller Welt kennenzulernen…auch wenns spontan, mitten unter der Woche zwischen Uni und Arbeit ist
Also machten wir uns heute Mittag auf den Weg zum Viktualienmarkt, wo die Beiden während ihres Aufenthalts wohnten und begannen dort die aufregende Verfolgungsjagt über den Viktualienmarkt bishin zum Gärtnerplatz. Ingo und ich waren unglaublich aufgeregt und hatten richtig Angst, Christine könnte uns entdecken. (zwei 5d MarkII mit 70-200 etc ausgestattet und ein riesiger Fotorucksack und Sunbounce auf Ingos Rücken hatte die ganze Sache nicht einfacher gemacht )
