Christmas is around the corner and we’re enjoying it a lot. Unfortunately the snow is gone already and it looks more like November outside but hey, Christkindlmarkt with hot tea cozy evenings next to fire places are on the list for many of us. Do you love this time of the year too?
Early last year when we got the inquiry of J&K in our inbox saying that a Tyrolean girl wants to get married to a Californian guy (both living in New York) we knew: We definitely have to be part of this winter wedding dream. And humbled and luckily, we were there in January to capture this amazing day deep in the Alps.
It’s been quiet here, we know. The reason is called Malia Sari and turned six weeks yesterday. More about that is coming soon too. Today is wedding time again.
Believe it or not, this wedding sits here since over a year and waits to get its fame on our blog. August 2013, a week long wedding celebration in Tuscany (Italy). Yes, a week and we were honored to be part of that and capture 5 days of it on photos and video forever.
We left wonderful New Zealand short after our wedding day for a honeymoon to Hawaii. Btw, thank you all so much for the lovely feedback on our blog post about New Zealand. In case you have not seen it check it out right here.
Those of you who follow us on a regular basis might still miss one of the big weddings from last year here on the blog. The reason is that it’s still in submission process and besides a handful of teasers, we aren’t allowed to publish more. We also launched a short teaser of the video we did for Ali and Zach during the five day event in Italy.
It has been our biggest wedding assignment till date and we cannot express how amazing these days were for us.
We first came across this US wedding photographer called Mike Larson back in 2007 due to his insanely cool camera toss. Remember that? He is about our age, such a cool guy and a super talented wedding photographer. Back then we only knew him through his blog and online videos.
Our first personal meetup was in 2009 when we both got a seat in his Calumet and Sunbounce Europe Workshop tour and this changed our photography life a lot. A couple of month later, we hired him for a casual portrait session and also met Rachel for the first time. (Here is his blog post about this shoot)

We hope you all are doing well and enjoying the fall. Well it’s kinda cold already and back home (Austria) we got pictures send from snowy gardens. Normally for us, November is a bit more quite than during the summer, but for those who have noticed, we launched a huge project on Sunday and are very excited about it. We are totally psyched about the huge response on all our TATW postings and especially about the recent part one from USA west coast. Maybe it’s because a lot of people have seen that part of the world already long before we did. However, we thank everyone so much for stopping by and sure thanks for all the lovely words on Facebook as well as here in the comment section.
As said, we needed to split it up and here we continue on the road to San Francisco.
It’s time. Getting there. closer to home. We were boarding a brand new Boing 777-300ER in Auckland. The best “bird” we have had on the trip and the best entertainment system we have ever seen in an airplane. Air New Zealand gets a 5 star rating anytime. Well Carmen did not enjoy it too much as you might know. But Ingo did not sleep much to enjoy it even more :-)
