Boy, looking at these photos from our recent trip to the USA makes us want to go back or just call our friends for a small chat. It was such a great and funny time. During the stay in Las Vegas we spontaneously decided to head out to the desert to do a fun shoot with all of us. You know, just everyone poses for the other one and it’s basically hanging out with our buddies and enjoying this gorgeous light in Nevada.
We love these guys so much and we cannot wait to meet them again. Also Ingo enjoyed having so much quality time with his long time buddy and best friend and all around nice guy Stefan from Stinglight Photography. He took the photos from us both. Thanks dude for everything!!
Yea, we left Vegas on the last day of WPPI to head over to San Luis Obispo to meet the guys from Cana Family to do our promo video. It was an incredible experience and we are super happy with the result. In case you have not seen this yet, here is the details story and final promo video! Check this out.
Our last trip to the Cali coast during 2011 was only half way nicely. During our TATW (here and here) trip it started raining for about 5-7 days and the only thing we saw from most of the Cali parts where flooded streets and closed roads. So we had to do Highway Number 1, Santa Barbara and Malibu as well as again up to San Francisco. We of course stopped in one of the most charming towns in Cali, Carmel by the Sea!! This is such a lovely place.
Another highlight was Malibu. Actually everything happened in one day. We spent some time at the famous beach and all of a sudden we spotted a big school of dolphins surfing the waves. That all happened about 50 to 100 meters from the beach away and was topped by a huge wale showing up about 200m away. Unfortunately, since we only wanted to check the beach for about 10 min and didn’t need a dirty sensor, we went only with a 35mm lens. This is the moment when you know you should have brought your longest lens…. But anyway the feeling this appearance of this creatures created were incredible!
Late that day we went for a walk at the beach down where all this luxury beach houses are. Little did we know, that this is going to be a 1,5h walk just next to Robbie Williams and his family. Even though he had the same way as we, it looked a bit like stalking him and we are very sure he was afraid of us, haha. Too bad we did not get a personal photo with him. Did you know that he is not well known in USA. Never been under the top 100 regarding to our researches… but still no photo.
However, Seal and other celebrities finished off our day in the one and only Sushi restaurant Nobu. If you ever make it to Malibu be sure you have an early dinner at this place. The celeb appearance is very high and you might be meeting your most fav star if you are lucky!
For us, this little escape from the cold time here in Europe helped us a lot to get the energy we need for the new season. Thinking back to those days makes us feel happy and motivated for everything that comes up now.
Have a great start into the week everyone!
Love
Carmen and Ingo
