Best Friends Marriage | Yvonne and Ilja

It’s been a couple of year’s back that we had a wedding of a really close friends with even an additional part besides photographing. We were extremely exited to hear from the engagement of our friends Yvonne and Ilja last year and as you can imagine we have forced them to get a date for the wedding asap, if they want as to be there too. So they came up with the long weekend in the end of Mai, which was last weekend.

Yvonne and Carmen are friends since they have been ten years old, which means a more than 20 years long best friendship (that makes us all look very old now, doesn’t it?).

Together with Nadja (other bridesmaid next to Carmen) they formed a dream team, which went through all kind of stuff during the last decades. No doubt that both of them had to be her bridesmaids for the big day.

All of us have a long year of supporting the wedding planning behind us, which can be a lot of fun too and we are more than happy that it turned out to be a fantastic day for bride and groom as well as all the guests.

The Lakes Hotel right next to Wörthersee in Pörtschach was the perfect venue for this wedding. It’s kind of a secret spot since it’s a rather new Hotel. Yvonne and Ilja had the pleasure to check in the Johannes Brahms Penthouse, which has about 220 sqm and a tremendous view over the largest lake in Carinthia. The light in there is just the best you can ever have for getting ready. Carmen jumped into several Jobs this day. From hair and make-up to bridesmaid she also took a couple of pictures during the day (of course :- )

Ilja and Ingo had a bit more quite time during the getting ready and this was a great chance to get this party day started as well.

The ceremony was held in the small pavilion next to the lake. Yvonne came with a wonderful boat while Ilja was nervously waiting for her. Despite all the weather up and down forecast during the week we were very happy to get a wonderful sunny summer day. It could not have been better at all.

Nadja and Carmen did speak during the ceremony as well and it got very emotional for a lot of people. Both told Yvonne how marvelous the long time friendship for the three of them is and how lucky she is to have found the “Mr. (Dr.) Right”.

The afternoon and evening was marked from very good food, super cool music (by TheDj) and a freaking long (6am) party.
