Romeo and Juliet | Inspiration Shoot Verona

We have been dying to wait for the official release of this amazing inspiration shoot we did last summer in Italy.

Being in Italy for weddings always means we are trying to get hold to our most favorite Italian Wedding Planer – Chic Weddings – owned by Eva and Clara.

2013 we worked with them for this unbelievable week long wedding and we were blown away by their professionalism and the incredible relaxed way to work. Ever since then we tried to do something together while we are in Italy.

Last year we approached them in Verona during this wonderful wedding (LINK) of ours in the one and only Villa Bertani (btw, we will be doing two workshops there in October, see THIS POST for all details, there are a handful seats left in the second week)

So this inspiration shoot was going to be different to everything we have done before and we really loved the idea and concept of doing a Romeo and Juliet inspired shoot in Verona. The mood board was promising, the team amazing and once we met the beautiful couple we knew this is going to rock.

There was only one thing left: Taking some great shots. Truth to be told, we were a little nervous about that.

We ran around to scout the amazing Byblos Art Hotel and check different spots to shoot the various scenes we all had in mind. But we faced the biggest issue for our kind of shooting style: Lack of light and different colors on steroids.

We really love the Byblos Art Hotel but we were afraid to not walk out with images we would be proud of. If there was enough and great quality of natural light, there were 100 of different colors bouncing around. If it was a softer and less distracting environment, there was no light.

At some point we decided to jump out of the box and work with what we have. Embed the crazy light and the spilling colors and incorporate this into the story of Romeo and Juliet. We had so much fun with the team and the wonderful models.

Since this is by far no typical wedding inspiration shoot we selected very carefully where to submit it. Last week, the wonderful blog 100layerscake brought the feature and today we are super happy to release a favorite selection for our readers.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy and have fun!

LOVE
Carmen and Ingo

I like it. A refreshing new vision of an old theme. And very different from what’s floating around the blogs these days ;-).
